Football Manager 2008

It's been released since late last year but I only started playing only very recently, via borrowing the disc from Peter. Well, it was a very obsessive game when it comes to managing a football club and leading them to an era of trophy-winning glories season after season. But all these were just "virtual-faming"... you may conquer over the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the English Premier League and knocking out various big names in the Champions League and building a youthful team full of wonderkids but what about your personal life ??? What about those personal goals/resolutions in your life which you desire to achieve by your actions & efforts ???

I remembered in the past playing FM through lectures and tutorials at NP and getting scr*wed results in the end... and what those nights where I could spend my nights playing my FM, clearing my "monthly schedules" in the game, and ended up playing 2-3 hrs and doing no other things in the end... Well, those made me feel soo STAGNANT.

Well, gaming indeed helps to kill away my lonely soul and times, but there are many other things which are there for me to take action to... such as my personal resolutions, my studies and my gakkai activities. And more Chanting of daimoku will rather help to achieve my goals in life...(Of course.)

I still love playing FM though, but I must self-control myself. Take that word... Self-Control. No more days of finishing a football season within 2-3 days !!! and I do know people who obsessed themselves too much with gaming... No Personal Resolutions, No Social Life, and Of course, No love Life.

My ACCA Debut

The results for December' Exams came today. I managed to pass both of my papers. 60++ for both Accountant in Business(F1) & Management Accounting(F2). Though the results were just slightly above the passing mark, I am glad that I managed to clear these first 2 papers, considering that there were times of being down which diverted me from concentrating in my part-time studies, considering that I was late for my F2 paper and there was not enough time to finish it off. Anyway, there were 12 more papers to go in this road to being a Certified Public Accountant. (Life will be more challenging once I ORD and began my working life while continuing this part-time studies.)

Went to see Chingay Parade on Saturday and "Kungfu Dunk" on Sunday. Send my support to my fellow ITACSD mates and the rest of SSA members in this parade and they were the first item to be in the parade. Despite not being involved in this year's Chingay performance (How I wish I was...), I was glad to join them immediately after they finished the parade, with everyone in such high victorious spirits... though I didn't manage to take a peep at the RedBull F1 Racing car.

If I got the money, I will definitely watch F1 live...

"Kungfu Dunk" was a movie worth watching. While I felt Jay Chou, as usual, not much talkings in the show. While there were lots of moments worth a good laugh, and not to forget, the basketball matchup scenes. I loved watching shows involving sports (Like Goal!, Longest Yard, Shaolin Soccer...etc). By the way, it was the first movie I ever watched this year.

Finally, this was one of the group pictures taken at Roy's house last week.

Until the time is through...

Now and forever,
Until the time is through
I can't believe it,
I don't know where to start,
No...baby,
So many questions deep inside my heart... you know that
Give me a moment before you go,
There's something you ought to know.

[Chorus]Baby now and forever, Until the time is through (Until the time is through),
I'll be standing here, Waiting and never give up my faith in you (Give up my faith in you),
Trying to make it clear, Without your love, I'd be half a man,
Maybe one day, You will understand, Now and forever, Until the time is through

How can I tell you,
so that you can see,
You know that,
Love has a meaning,When you are here with me (When you are here with me baby)
Give me a moment before you go,There's something you ought to know.

There is no Word to comfort me,
Here in my cold reality,
I'm searching for words,
What can I say to make you see.

Baby now, Until time is through, I'll be Here.
Baby now, Until time is through(Baby now, Until time is through, I'll be Here.), I'll be Here.

[Chorus]Baby now and forever, Until the time is through (Until the time is through),
I'll be standing here, Waiting and never give up my faith in you (Give up my faith in you),
Trying to make it clear, Without your love, I'd be half a man,
Maybe one day, You will understand,
Now and forever, I will be here for you,
Until the time is through

Speaking Out From My Heart

I know once I upload this post, I may cause some constroversies and I may encounter some criticism.

But there's something which I wanna speak out from my heart.

Tomorrow will be Valentine's Day... yet another single Valentine's Day. While most of the friends I know having found their other half and spent this day with their respective loved ones, I am just spending another day alone. Well, there's no deny that I have a very bad karma in terms of relationships, having a number of One-Sided Relationships since teenage... Read that word... One Sided. A scenario where I only like the person but the person doesn't even give a single chance to me, and things just getting worse no thanks to my stupidity and lack-of-wisdom. (I don't want to elaborate what really happen the last time around less than 6 months ago, I can only say a "good intention" becomes a make-up prank which I am unawared of, a very silly and cruel prank on me... until now, I am overcoming my thoughts on her.)

After all these years, the reasons behind all these hurts is that I do not give a good first impression that I can be a boyfriend material. Why do I say soo ??? Firstly, I am not those good looking type even though I have the good fortune to kill off my pre-NS acne problems, and my body language may give others a poorer image of me (One factor is that I have a tendency of smiling for nothing, which I don't feel it, or I just thinking something which sounds funny...). I don't really speak well and only know how to crack those "trying to be funny" lame jokes and in some ways, I am just acting-cute.

I felt that I had difficulties in my social skills year after year. I don't know how to put things in words... What I am trying to tell is that I made poor interactions to build strong bonds with friends around me, esp. female friends... perhaps I don't really understand what a girl really thinks and feel... I am just being insensitive perhaps ???

I don't wish to be EMO, saying more on how f*ck up my love life is since young... etc etc. What I wanna do is to continue my ongoing human revolution for the year 2008 and polish up my life. Meanwhile, let me have the self-confidence to interact with anyone around me and truly know about others...

Like what I mention that I have the good fortune to kill away my pre-NS Acne Problems, and this does help in my self-confidence, but I will continue to strengthen, in terms of my body-fitness and self-image, besides my human revolution.

Finally, let me have the good fortune and wisdom to meet up the right person whom I will feel comfortable, blissful and interested with, and she must feel the same way too.

Let Me Have The Life Condition To Work My Way For Happiness !

Down Memory Lane...

Last night I happened to browse through my previous blogsite from another friend's blog (Link not updated !!!). My previous blog was not deleted, since I lost my previous username and password. Meanwhile, reading my previous blog was a journey down memory lane... a period of times which looked turbulent, disappointing, or perhaps, pessimistic, yet there were times of joyful moments.

The previous blog last dated January 8 2007. 1 Day before My Enlistment Date...

How much things have changed...

Some resolutions have been achieved, Some have been on-going, while Some... I am waiting/creating for opportunities.

Even in the terms of my social life... Many friendships have been made and built after the last post of the previous blog...while old friendships are renewed and continue to grow... however some, notably which are built not long before my NS... these friendships just look shallow afterall... A sort of "Hi-Bye" friends ???. Meanwhile few old friends had to disappoint me somehow...

Lovelife... No comments. I don't wish to be EMO and pour soo much on what's going on this few years, or I should say ALL ALONG.

Fulfilling my potential... I mentioned before in this old blog that I failed to fulfill my potential. Yet throughout this ongoing NS life, I was given opportunities to fulfill my potential... such as acting in M & D Fest, singing at various SSA meetings (Though not a major concert) and also giving studies another shot by taking up Accountancy in ACCA part-time. While now there are more occasions going to sing K, not only as a form of leisure but also a "training" session for me to improve my singing and also starting my fitness training in terms of going gym and play some football. Meanwhile I am getting more active in Gakkai activities...

Character-Wise... one friend of mine commented after seeing my old blog that I am looking less depressed but more positive and active compared to those moments as stated in my previous blog. Perhaps... some incidents makes me grow.

Well, apology if I undisclose my previous blog for now. Anyway, I won't be using back that old blog anymore since I have created this blog on the first day of 2008, as a fresh departure and a new chapter in life.

(If anyone wanna have a peep on the old blog, msg me personally.)

Chinese New Year Day 2

Like what I mentioned, I went for a annual CNY lunch with my ex baby-sitter and family, after visiting Senja Soka Centre this time with Eric, Alvin and Jeron. This time though, we decided to change another restaurant located around Jalan Bukit Merah. I won't mention the name though because of the followings.

Their service-quality was bad. Well, the efficiency which the staffs served were slow... for the first 1 hour, we only managed to "lo hei" (Lao Yu Sheng), have some char-siew buns, carrot cakes and 1 plate of chicken claws, plus multiple servings of chinese tea. Wheareas in previous years at the other restaurant, we will have almost everything eaten in the stomach within this particular hour. The most typical part is when a small tour group of Chinese tourists arrived, they will have all their dishes on the table within a short time ! Well, there's may be due to the itinary schedule of the tour, but it's pretty obvious in our eyes, as well as those from other tables. Sounds unfair right ???

In the end, after having those little dishes, we decided to leave the place for Crystal Jade instead at Great World City. Sadly, Crystal Jade was closed on this day, soo we had some western cuisine instead in the premises... at Kenny Roger Rooasters.

Guess we gonna looking for another good makan place for dim sum and chinese delicacies again for the next Chinese New Year.

EPL Global Plan

Apart from Chinese New Year, let me share my opinion on one of the latest football news in the world. Not the news on Fabio Capello's 1st match in-charge of England, nor Team Singapore's defeat in Saudi Arabia... but the English Premier League's global plan on holding an additional 'international round' where this extra round will be included in the league table and play various 10 matches in other parts of the world outside England... such as Beijing, Hongkong, Sydney, Los Angeles and Singapore, starting from 2010-11 season.

Well... sounds interesting where local fans will get to see a so-called title chasing clash perhaps... involving Liverpool and Man U... at the brand new Sports Hub in Kallang. But with this plan, I feel this top domestic football league is getting too commercialised... already various clubs are dominated with the ownerships of foreign buyers, and die-hard supporters are pissed with the way those American bosses "backstabbed" Uncle Rafa, and of course, the price-hike at Old tradfford... making Man U fans like upper class citizens with no passion and kicking out those passionate yet working class ones. Now they want to make this domestic league globalized and making more money, and perhaps robbing the interests of those domestic leagues in minnow countries (Think China Super League, HK first division and of course, S-League...)

Well... EPL is trying to emulate the NBA and NFL, where these major sports leagues of USA host some season matches outside North America. In future, will EPL think of setting up franchise overseas ??? Such as Singapore Slingers in Australia's National Basketball League. Will there be a team with the name like Singapore Lions, a club side playing their home matches at the Sportshub, against teams like Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham & co... just like how the Singapore team played in the Malaysia Cup in the past.

From the latest news, the local tabloids in UK has condemned this global plan... It may be a very exciting news for fans outside UK... but not a good news in terms of the pride of football in England and various national football associations which run their various domestic leagues, not to forget... the footballers who's been playing too many games. (Apart from the 38(+1) league games, Robbed of winter breaks, FA Cup, League Cup to play...and for some, European competitions and International matches...)

Chinese New Year Day 1

As usual, I will visit SSA HQ in the morning with my paternal relatives, meeting and sending wishes to follow friends and members I know in the process. Meanwhile, one of my cousins is still in slacking mode despite his 'N' Level year. He seems like he just hacks care his studies to the extent that he still not gotten his textbooks for the current year !!! Well... there is a MUST to homevisit him within these few weeks.

Went back home to have lunch with my parents together with my paternal relatives before heading to Fullerton hotel to celebrate CNY with my maternal relatives. Well, my cousin, Melissa, had booked the suite the night before to view the fireworks. Being with my maternal relatives, I only see them once a year during these festive seasons. However there is a unique bond with them, since I spent most of my early childhoods with them. Can say we play until grow-ups. Most of them are there... seeing my nephew and niece running around... while I had another newly-born niece in Rozanna. Meanwhile, Gerald and Lishan are taking O Levels this year, while Sean, is back for a term-break this festive period after studying music in Austria. By the way, I never knew Sean's dad was a ex-youth national footballer in his youth until his NS !!! While, me and Yansen, who is at the same age as me, have a good chat about our current lives. Overall, it was a very good occasion renewing family ties and collecting more ang baos !!!

Meanwhile, I made the further realisation that this younger generation of my Chia Clan(My paternal cousins) seriously needs to wake up... as members of SSA & SGI, as disciples of Sensei, and know what they want to do in the future, and being capable people to the society.

Went for a short walk with my family at the River Hongbao Carnival after that and I saw the stands meant for the Chingay Parade at Padang... Well, how I wish I can be involved in this year's Chingay with my fellow ITACSD comrades.

Anyway, looking forward to tomorrow's lunch session with my ex baby sitter and her family as well as this saturday's ITAC CNY gathering. While there is also a nights out with my fellow NSmates that weekend, and also CNY gathering with 2e1 peeps next week.

Year of the Rat

Very soon is the start of the year of the Rat, while I hope this zodiac year shall be a fantastic one than the previous Rat Year, which was 1996.

Let me have some recap of the previous Rat Year.

- Taking part in my first and only Chingay Parade, not with SSA... I was not even a believer then, but with my pri school, Pei Chun Public School.

- Having my P4 streaming examinations and got into 5F, a Em2 class. (Now no Em1/2/3 streaming right ???)

- Kevin Keagan's Newcastle United led the EPL standings by a massive 12 points in January, and then lost it all to Man U... (Now Keagan's back at Newcastle United, and soo far... 2 Draws 2 Loss, 1 goal, 7 conceded.)

- England hosted Euro'96, and then knocked out in the semi finals by Germany... still... that Penalties Karma... this time by Gareth Southgate. The Germans eventually won the title.

- The start of the Professional football league in Singapore and the first edition of ASEAN football championship, then the Tiger Cup. (How the lions come soo far... 3 titles of Southeast Asian Champions)

- My first cruise trip abroad Star Cruise, on Star Aquarius. (I went for the 2nd time last year... with my NS lads.)

A classic win for England against the Netherlands in the final group match of Euro'96... thanks to the SAS strike force (Shearer & Sheringham)

One of the Premiership classics... Liverpool 4 Newcastle United 3

These are some recaps in 1996. Meanwhile, all the best for all ITACSD members involving in this year's Chingay Parade !!!

While a prosperous and successful year of Rat (Mouse sounds nicer) to everyone out there...

Early Birthday Celebrations

Over the weekend, I went for another Chinese New Year clothes shopping spree with Jiazhao and Xinyao before having an early birthday celebration with the Bendemeer Gang of 2E1.

Went to Sakae Sushi for a simple dinner with Ben, Peixuan, Ling Xian and Gek Ching at Park Mall before heading for LOOF where Zhen Bang, Nic, Perry and Ebonne join us after respective early CNY reunion dinners and personal stuffs. On the way to LOOF, everyone is surprised to see Mr Alric Chong, our sec 2 form teacher at the carpark of the Odeon Towers. Just in case if anyone is not sure what LOOF is. It is a classy rooftop pub located at Odeon Towers along Bras Basah Road, where part of the pub is indoor filled with cubicles attached with matresses, though the drinks can be expensive. Obviously, the place is targetted at Ang Mohs but there are also local babes around.

It's a enjoying and relaxing moment at the LOOF, where everyone has a very good chit-chat and of course, the cake-cutting session.

Thanks everyone for making your way to celebrate a early birthday for me and also the chocolate cake, the presents...

Meanwhile, I am waiting for the photos...
